Breast Enlargement

Breast enlargement or breast augmentation, is a relatively simple surgical procedure performed to create asthetically pleasing breasts. Silicone or saline breast implants, which feel similar to soft breast tissue, are inserted beneath the glandular tissue of the breast.

This operation can be done to increase breast size, to redefine the breast after childbirth, or to recreate symmetry after a mastectomy.

There are many different types of implants available and your surgeon will discuss these with you to help you decide what is the right for you.

The incision type used generally depend on the need to correct the gland shape or produce some gland uplift.

Once the incision is made, the surgeon will lift breast tissue to create a pocket. This pocket will either be under the breast tissue or underneath the pectoral muscle. Once the pocket is created the surgeon will place a breast implant inside.

Following your surgery you will need to keep your breast supported. You can return to work 7 days after your surgery. Postoperative instructions will be discussed with your surgeon.
