Education and Professional Experience

This graduate of the University of Costa Rica conducts private at the La Catolica Hospital in San Jose. At the same time Doctor Palavicini is the Director of the Medical Department of the Costa Rican Federation of Soccer and President of the Costarican Medicine of the Football Association (ACOMEFUT).

He has been Medical Resident at the Hospital San Juan de Dios and worked at the University of Costa Rica.

Doctor Palavicini's experience in Sports Medicine was acquired while working with some of the most important and larger soccer teams of the Costa Rican league (Deportivo Saprissa and Asociacion Deportiva Sagrada Familia) as well as with the Costa Rican National Team.

Amongst his many accomplishments it is important to note that he presides the Medical Committee of the National Federation of Soccer, he is an active member of the Sports Medicine Commission of FIFA (www.fifa.com), he is part of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rica National Association of Orthopedics and Trauma ACOT, member of the American Academy of Arthroscopy AAOS (www.aaos.org), International Member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America AANA (www.aana.org), and member of the John William Uribe Sports Medicine Society
